My Real Estate Appraisers Licensure Exam Journey
A Promise Fulfilled
As I knelt in prayer, I made a vow to God: If I were to pass the Real Estate Appraiser Licensure Exam (REALE), I would share my journey and inspire others. Now, standing on the other side of success, I am honored to fulfill that promise.
Conquering My Achilles' Heel
Numbers, especially complex mathematical problems, have always been my kryptonite. The REALE was no exception, filled to the brim with numerical challenges that tested my confidence. However, I refused to be defeated. I intensified my studies, turning sleep into a luxury I could no longer afford. I re-enrolled in the same review centers that had supported me during my Real Estate Brokerage Exam preparation.
Navigating the Unfamiliar
This exam was a formidable challenge, made even more daunting by the unfamiliar testing location. The PRC mandated NCR as the sole testing ground, assigning me to Sta. Mesa, a place I knew nothing about. Fortunately, Google Maps became my trusty companion.
News of the testing center change spurred immediate action. I booked a roundtrip ticket, but anxiety lingered as I needed to pinpoint the exact exam location. To mitigate uncertainties, I secured a room near potential test sites.
My preparations paid off. Soaring flight costs and scarce accommodations only intensified the pressure of the exam.
Exam Day: A Mix of Anticipation and Trepidation
Arriving in Sta. Mesa on August 5th, I dedicated the next day to intensive problem-solving practice. While solitude is my preference, I am grateful for the invaluable insights shared by my classmates and professors.
Exam day dawned with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. After a focused morning routine, I arrived at the testing center. A moment of panic ensued as I nearly claimed the wrong seat, but I regained composure.
Fundamentals of Real Estate Appraisal was the first hurdle. Thankfully, my preparation paid off. However, the absence of a timer hindered my time management.
Professional Appraisal Practice proved to be the most demanding section. Problem-solving stretched my abilities, requiring strategic time allocation. Drawing on experience from previous exams, I prioritized theoretical questions and chose to skip all the difficult problem-solving questions until they were the only ones remaining.
With minutes to spare, I submitted my papers. Relief washed over me as I stood up, my legs trembling.
The Sweet Taste of Success
Leaving the testing center, I held onto hope for a good outcome. I prayed for a score of at least 80 and decided to travel to Sagada to unwind and let go of the pressure. I didn't wait around for the result, choosing to return home on August 12, 2024. The following morning, August 13, 2024, I was greeted with messages of congratulations as soon as I turned on my mobile data.
I am deeply grateful for the divine blessings I have received, which have surpassed my expectations.
Gratitude and Inspiration
I am eternally grateful to my bosses, workmates, and the entire MLGU Loreto, Agusan del Sur for their unwavering support. My family, friends, classmates, and mentors have been my constant source of encouragement. I extend my gratitude to the examiners and PRC proctors for their dedication to ensuring the integrity of the exam and for being kind to us, examinees. Their contributions were instrumental to my success.
To those aspiring real estate appraisers, never give up on your dreams. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. With hard work, dedication, and faith, your goals are within reach.
Congratulations to all who passed the Real Estate Appraiser Licensure Exam!
