How Coconut Oil Is Made: A Poem
Coconut oil is extracted from dried coconuts called copra.
The process seems easy for those who don’t have an idea.
Coconut oil drying in the Philippines may take an era.
I’m exaggerating but it’s possible in some area.
There are many tasks to do as a copra producer.
It starts at climbing so I need a climber.
Husking is the next step to be done by a husker.
It is a tedious task but it is a muscle builder.
I tried it and it was really boring but I got muscles.
Going back to the main topic, the next task is to break the coconuts.
For me, this is the best part because I can drink coconut juice.
I can also eat my favorite coconut embryo.
Sounds amazing but I’m just making it enjoyable.
The truth is, breaking can disable.
It sounds harsh but it can really break a bone if breakers are not careful.
I was wounded many times breaking but I’m still able.
The next task is drying, the easiest without rain.
Sunlight is very vital in the Philippines’ copra production.
Most sources of copra are not big corporations.
Many are not funded and supported by the leaders of this nation.
The next step is extracting manually and mechanically.
Coconut meat is extracted from the shell manually.
Coconut oil is extracted from the meat mechanically.
The last jobs of a copra producer are extracting manually and sell to a company.
