Best Video Editor for Android: A Review
I paid for its VIP subscription for one year thinking that it has a lot more to offer than the other video editing apps on top. Unfortunately, it failed to meet my expectations. As a person who loves exploring and discovering new things, I want an editor that allows me to do more with my videos.
Kinemaster
This is the best video editor for android (so far) I discovered. Some of its features that I like and are not in the video editors (for android) I’ve used are adding videos or photos as layers, rearranging the videos (and other elements) the way I want them to be, do a snapshot and add the snapshot in the video. The best thing about it is it’s free (with watermark). It does not limit the length of my videos and I can choose the size (and quality) of my videos as I export them. Adding Fx that behaves the way I want them is also one of the reasons I love using Kinemaster (and the editing is in landscape mode). Unfortunately, its cost is a leap higher than those I tried. It’s beyond my budget, so I opt to VivaVideo because I believed it’s the 2nd best but when I did further research, I saw more video editors for android with an, “Editor’s Choice” tag. An app with that tag is the first I’ll click when I look for great apps on Google Play Store. That’s one of my bases as I choose the best app. Then the feedback ( specifically the reviews) is the biggest factor that helps me decide whether to download or not. I read “Critical” reviews to see if the problems of the users giving those negative feedback can be fixed or not. So far, the majority of the feedback is good and the 5 Stars rating is way higher than the lower stars (probably the reason of its price -- the creator/s know its value). Also, it’s #1 Top grossing as of March 18, 2019, 9:32 AM GMT+8). I have deleted the app but I might download it again as my subscription to VivaVideo expires. I cannot keep 3 video editors in my phone because its capacity is not superb.
InShot
InShot
This app is almost the same with Kinemaster. I did not uninstall InShot because I like its feature where I can add a blank video. I can save a video without a watermark too even if I did not pay for a subscription. Honestly, after using several times the app I purchased, I started regretting why I did not choose InShot instead. The latter is better than the former, but the best is still Kinemaster (based on my needs).
We have different tastes or needs and I think apps have different features because of those differences. We should not negatively criticize the apps (or its creators) because of unmet expectations. As users, our job is to do some research and give constructive criticism so that they know what aspects need improvement. That way, they can create better products that satisfy the needs of the majority.
