COVID-19 War: The Struggles and Solutions
A Pastor died, 3 teachers and more lives were lost in our Municipality because of COVID-19. Currently, 4 frontliners (who restlessly do the vaccination) are positive. Mass testing is being implemented to know who must be isolated or quarantined.
Works are suspended to conduct thorough disinfection in the offices. This is the first time we have experienced this fast transmission of the virus.
As of this writing, the total casualties in Loreto is 17 based on the data (to be verified) from a credible source. The first COVID-19 death case was a senior citizen with comorbidity. Then it was followed by more deaths of varying ages which includes an (unvaccinated) 29 years old woman with lung problems (according to some reports).
When will this pandemic end?
I have read online articles with the same question. Most of the answers are uncertain. The virus keeps on mutating which made it impossible to reach herd immunity.
The answer lies within us.
If you have visited my blog in October 2020, you might have encountered my COVID-19 story. I have been tested many times for COVID-19, and fortunately, the test result is always negative.
"Don't let your guard down" is the quote that I think is the most relevant advice. The enemy cannot be seen, heard nor felt (until it reaches the weak parts of our body).
"... the solution to end COVID-19 lies in the behavior of the people."
I believe that the solution to end COVID-19 lies in the behavior of the people. Rumors make the situation worse so we must stop spreading them.
Wearing a mask is proven to be effective so why are we removing it?
Washing hands often with soap or rubbing alcohol immediately after touching surfaces that are used by the public is effective to avoid getting the virus.
I am an obedient citizen who is very particular about hygiene. I think that's one of the reasons the virus cannot enter my system.
I am a health enthusiast too. I love eating fruits and vegetables. I avoid unhealthy foods. I believe that's one of the reasons why COVID-19 cannot defeat my immune system.
If all of us are always cautious and take care of ourselves daily, we can probably live with COVID-19 without further new cases nor casualties.
By the way, I am fully vaccinated with Sinovac in August 2021.
