Working on one of my biggest dreams
"... I paused blogging to brainstorm and look for sustainable solutions to the problems related to my advocacies.
Hopefully, my current endeavors can lead me to the right path, and maybe one day I can help in uplifting my countrymen specifically the children who lost their way because of poverty. Many children have great potential. I saw it when I was involved in an outreach program and when I started observing those kids on the streets.
I pray one day, all of those kids can be properly fed not just with food, but also with the knowledge to become good citizens of any nation and be an asset to the world."
Those paragraphs are on my About page. I am a dreamer since I was a child. I grew up in a poor family in a house made from woods in a squatters' area. Both my parents have jobs, but their salaries are just enough to send us to a small public school.
My childhood best friend who has a concrete house beside ours has things I do not have. Her mother works in a bank as a manager if I remembered it right. She knew a lot of ways to earn money. My interest in business grew because of her. I dreamed of owning (or even just managing) a store because I was inspired by their store which can be seen outside our room.
I shared my entrepreneurial journey in my previous blog post so I will not dig deeper into it here.
In this post, I'll focus more on the present. I will share my current experiences and some glimpse of how I managed to hold on.
After my contract expired in a national government agency in Butuan City, I was hoping to get a regular managerial position in a government-owned corporation. I went through a panel interview in Cagayan de Oro. The panel instructed me to talk to their human resource personnel for further instruction. She told me to get and submit everything she put on the checklist, so I did and waited. While waiting, I explored the opportunities in the online world.
I continued blogging and learned new skills with the help of Google and other social media platforms where I was able to connect with great people who have brilliant minds and hearts. I did not meet those people personally but I can feel their sincerity to help and uplift others.
"To help others" has become my motto and purpose in life. I am very happy that I was employed in the Municipal Local Government Unit of Loreto, Agusan del Sur because I was able to live with my motto and purpose.
I dreamed of owning or managing a business. Today, that dream is slowly unfolding and near to reality.
I am currently working on the establishment of the enterprises of the local government unit to boost the Municipality's economic growth and become a self-reliant organization.
Our goal is to provide livelihood, education, employment, and development to the people of Loreto (LLEED). As we succeed, we aim to reach a wider scope of people or communities to extend our help and achieve sustainable development for all.
