I’m not a fan of IU, but my friend is an avid fan. I created this review because of her. The story behind the reason is on the previous blog post.
Timeline

Middle School Years - IU found her passion for singing and decided to become a singer.

Before her debut - LOEN coined her stage name "IU", deriving it from the phrase "I and You" to symbolize the unifying force of music between people.

8 years later
IU “conquered the world”.
Her social media accounts and the number of her fans worldwide who will do everything to see her perform are proofs to that claim.
Reading her biography on Wikipedia, it cannot be denied that she’s an inspiration to all. The story on how she started and how she rose to power proves that miracle is real. If an individual has that “burning desire” to fulfill what he/she wants that he/she is willing to “stake his/her entire future” (quoted from Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich) to succeed, then it is 99. 9% it can be achieved.
IU sacrificed her post-secondary education to pursue her career even if the probability that she’ll become who she is right now is very thin. She even failed on her debut album (although she was awarded the "Rookie of the Month" by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) because it did not sell well in the market. She was even criticized as she performed her song, “Lost Child” live for the first time. She felt a little discouraged, but she did not let that feeling ruin her career. In her statement on an interview in 2011, she said, "My first album failed, but I'm grateful for that. If I had become successful as soon as I made my debut, I wouldn't appreciate my staff members and the popularity that I'm enjoying now." (quoted from Wikipedia)
IU saw that failure as a blessing because she was able to know the people who truly believed in her. That made her more determined to succeed and the rest is history.
Her story is such an Inspiration to Us
