Manila Tour: My Solo Journey in The City

The photos below were taken in November 2018.

Dr. Jose Rizal was shot dead because of his actions (writing his novels against Spanish colonizers) for the freedom of this nation and its people. There were many of our countrymen who died (documented and not) to set this nation free and save the lives of many.

Today, amidst COVID-19, we are enjoying so much of the freedom that we (or most of us) do not care if our actions can harm others (that may even cause death).

Many are blaming the Chinese people who we believe were the carrier of the virus. We forgot our long history with them. We’ve been trading goods with the Chinese people peacefully until the colonizers ruined our relationship with our great ancestors.

We’ve been challenged by nature many times, but we did not learn from those challenges.  We keep on destroying natural lives consciously and unconsciously.

The destruction we've caused to nature resulted in bigger problems that became uncontrollable. The number of natural resources that fed many mankind exponentially decreased their capacity because of our actions that did not consider the future effects.

Our only hope now is faith. It doesn't matter who we believe in. The important thing is that we do good things for ourselves and others.

Our cooperation and collaboration with other nations can produce outcomes that may solve global problems. We should set aside the interest of the minority and focus on the majority. We must look at the big picture and predict the future.

Let us travel to the future without forgetting the lessons we learned in the past. We can start from zero, but we must work hard and continue to grow (forward) without destroying the gifts of nature. Our country is divided by many islands, but we can act as one and become the hero of the future generations.

Let us let the light within our hearts and mind guide us to the right path.

National Museum of Anthropology

A building with a unique design on top.

Among the building I saw while roaming the park, this building's top caught my attention. I was reminded of Dubai as I saw that building.

Lapu-lapu's Statue

Lapu- lapu is one of the Philippines' heroes who's from Cebu. His gigantic statue can be found near Museum of National History in Rizal Park, Manila.

Soul Waves

A silver figure that looks like 4 waves. It was built to serve as a reminder of how Filipinos and Koreans cooperated to achieve independence.

The so-called "Pambansang Photobomber"

This building became famous because tourists who take photos at Rizal Monument cannot take good shots because the building is almost unavoidable in every angle.
